Live reportage illustration
I create live reportage-style illustrations during your wedding or event, capturing the atmosphere, people and emotion of the day as it unfolds.
Working in ink and watercolour on site, I create expressive scenic artworks that tell the story of your event in a way that feels personal, energetic and full of life.
Unlike photography, illustration leaves room for storytelling and interpretation. Meaningful symbols, personal references, pets or loved ones who aren’t present can also be thoughtfully woven into the artwork.
Over a 6-hour session, I typically complete 3–5 finished A4–A3 illustrations. These may include:

Any meaningful moment you’d love documented
All artwork is completed live on site and handed over on the day using archival-quality materials.
Guest Portraits
Live guest portraits give your guests something truly personal to take home from the celebration.
Throughout the event, I create quick ink and watercolour portraits live on site. My style is expressive, colourful and focused on capturing personality, movement and the feeling of the day rather than stiff formal likenesses.
Over a 6-hour session, I can typically create:
Around 30 detailed face portraits
Around 40 simplified full-body sketches
Around 50 loose expressive figures
Portrait pace and detail can be tailored depending on your priorities for the event.

Archival-quality materials
Assistant support for guest coordination (subject to availability)
Additional portraits can also be ordered after the wedding.
Meet Alyssa!
I’m Alyssa Bermudez, a graphic novelist, illustrator and live event artist based in Tasmania.
My work is all about storytelling and observation- capturing people, movement, colour and emotion in a way that feels alive and personal.
Over the years I’ve illustrated books, performed in live illustrated theatre shows, taught art, designed fabrics, and drawn thousands of people from life. Live events combine everything I love most: spontaneity, connection and creating artwork that becomes part of the memory itself.

Most bookings are for a 6-hour session. This allows enough time for either 3-5 larger reportage illustrations or approximately 30-50 guest portraits, depending on the style and level of detail. Shorter sessions are available depending on the location.

Guest portraits run on a relaxed, first-come, first-served system throughout the event.
Instead of guests waiting while I draw them, I (or my assistant) take a quick photo of each guest when they’re ready. They can then head straight back to enjoying the celebration while I work from the reference photo.
I create the portraits during the event, and guests can collect them later from my table, or I’ll personally hand them out as I find people throughout the evening.
While it’s generally first in, first served, I also make small adjustments as needed to ensure key people are included - such as immediate family, the wedding party, or guests the couple have specifically requested as priorities.
This way, the flow of the event stays uninterrupted, and no one has to pause their experience to sit for a drawing.

Yes. Guest portraits are handed directly to guests during the event, and reportage illustrations are completed on site and handed over at the end of the session.

Yes. One of the lovely things about illustration is that it allows room for storytelling and symbolism beyond the exact moment being observed. Meaningful details, pets, heirlooms or loved ones can be thoughtfully incorporated into the artwork where appropriate.

Yes. Custom stationery, signage, illustrated keepsakes and additional artwork can all be arranged separately depending on your event.

Both Live Reportage Illustration and Live Guest Portrait packages begin at $1700 for a 6-hour session.

Absolutely. For locations more than 40 minutes from Hobart, travel is charged at $65 per hour round trip. For locations beyond 3 hours each way, an overnight fee of $150 will apply.
