Expect live character drawing, timelapse videos and real-life reference photos, comic worksheets, giveaways, and plenty of chances to chat, ask questions, and get books signed and stamped.

Sunday 22 March: Area52

A deeper, more reflective conversation for older teens, artists, and lovers of graphic memoir.

Join the creators of Run Home and Oh Brother for an in-depth discussion about turning real life into comics. This session explores process, memory, visual storytelling, and the emotional and creative decisions behind graphic memoir, with behind-the-scenes visuals and a generous Q&A.

Chaired by Joshua Santospirito, this event will have a relaxed feel, with casual snacks, conversation, and time to hang out afterwards. Book signings and stamps will follow.

Best suited to teens, arts audiences, writers, illustrators, and readers interested in process.

Area52: 88 Elizabeth Street, Hobart TAS

Book me!

I’m an experienced presenter and illustrator with a long history of working with young people, readers, and creative communities.

I regularly present at primary and secondary schools, delivering engaging talks and workshops about storytelling, comics, visual narrative, and the creative process. My sessions are tailored to suit different ages and abilities, and combine drawing, discussion, and hands-on activities.

I’ve appeared on festival and library panels, hosted graphic storytelling workshops, and spoken in conversation about graphic memoir, turning real life into comics, and using drawing as a tool for reflection and communication.

I’m also available for live illustration at events and weddings, creating expressive, reportage-style drawings that capture the energy of the room in real time.

I’m available for a range of events, from intimate conversations to large group workshops.
