Any tips on working with charcoal for the first time? Love it? Hate it? What kind of paper is best when it comes to charcoal? Love your work!

Be ready to get messy!! You’ll probably have it all over your hands and face when you finish. I’d say use canson paper because it holds the charcoal really well. Sometimes it’s nice to use a cream or gray paper so you can use your black charcoal for darks and a white pastel for lights to make it pop off the page. :)
